Social Token Expiry
Once a social token is authenticated, it generally requires no further action, with the exception of Meta platforms and LinkedIn.
Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
Due to a security policy enforced by Meta and LinkedIn, the authentication token for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn profiles requires re-authentication every 60 days.
- Notifications: The user who originally authenticated the profile will receive email notifications reminding them of the upcoming expiry: 7 days prior, 2 days prior, and on the day of expiry.
- Expiry View: The token expiry date can also be viewed within the Connect Profiles section.
- Impact of Expiry: If you fail to re-authenticate the token before its expiry, the system will temporarily stop capturing social interactions and tickets from that platform. Once re-authenticated, data capture will resume in real time, but any conversations created while the token was expired cannot be retrieved.
All Other Platforms
For all other social platforms (excluding Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn), the token expiry date is typically shown as the current date. However, these tokens are automatically re-authenticated by the system on a daily basis, requiring no manual intervention from the user.
Important Note on Re-authentication
Re-authenticating a token does not modify or change any existing platform configurations or settings.
Be aware that changing the password on any of the native social platforms will cause the corresponding token to expire, necessitating immediate re-authentication within Radarr.
