What does Impact Score or Impact mean? How is it calculated?

Table of Contents

Impact Score measures the significance of online content by analyzing its engagement levels (likes, comments, shares, views) using advanced algorithms in Radarr by Genesys. Unlike simple engagement metrics, Impact considers various factors to gauge the effectiveness and performance of posts. In Impact Score calculations, engagements are given different weights based on their perceived value. As such, Shares have a higher value than Comments and Comments have a higher value than Likes.

A high Impact Score indicates content with substantial engagement, potentially trending or going viral, while a low score suggests less impactful content. The score is relative to other posts’ engagement levels and also considers factors like the Alexa rank of URLs for news and blogs.

Applications of Impact Score include:

  1. Prioritizing complaints/negative sentiment posts that get significant engagement
  1. Comparing posts’ performance to identify top-performing content
  1. Proactively spotting trending content with Impact Alerts

Overall, Impact Score helps users stay informed about influential online conversations and trends.
